The Homepage tab allows you to select from a variety of Homepage layouts and add your own custom text, if you like. Please make note, this is not the same thing as the template. The homepage is independent of the template. This is why they have their own tabs on store editor. Consider this site.

The design of the page structure is considered the template. The graphic in the middle. the text, and the pictures of products in the middle are collectively considered the homepage. In this example we have the Novalee: Cool Tones template paired with the Flash Homepage 2 Medium homepage. If we were going to block this out visually, the template and home page would look like this:

Hopefully that clears up the distinction between the two. Let's get on to the actual tab.

It isn't too complicated. Here are what the numbers mean:
- The forth tab over, the one that reads 'Homepage', that is what you click to get to the Homepage editor.
- The Homepage selector. Here you can choose from a variety of different styles. Note, not all homepages work with all templates. We will get to that later.
- The Preview. This display shows you what the homepage looks like. Currently our new homepages don't have previews.
- With a little HTML smarts you can change where the start shopping link goes to. If don't have the know-how, we will cover what to do a future tutorial.
- Click that check box to open up our WYSIWYG text editor so you can enter your own hp text. For more on that, click here. http://creativemerch.zendesk.com/entries/453999-how-do-i-edit-my-home-page-text
