How to set your advanced search so that it will only search for products you have on in the store.

If you want to set your adv search so that a customer can only search products in your store, all you need to do is change the permissions of the advanced search.

Logging in to your admin.
Click on stores.
Find the store you want to edit and click on that.
You are now in a pop-up window I call “the store editor”. There are a series of buttons at the top of this window, one labeled “settings”, click that button.
In settings at the center and bottom of that page is a dropdown that lets you control the advanced search parameters, one option being “enabled products only”.
Set the dropdown to that setting and click save (the disk icon).

You can also set the adv search to 'all products' and 'disabled products' if you like
