If you ever need to change a stock product to suit your needs, edit the name, the picture or whatever, you will need to make a copy of that product first. This is how you do that.
How to copy a product from our database to custom.
- Log into the admin
- Find the product you want
- On the product page, near the bottom, there is a little four-way arrow that lets you move the product to custom. Two things about this: you are actually copying the product to custom, not moving it, and that new custom product won’t be updated when its non-custom cousin is updated. You can always check back with the original to see if updating is necessary.
- Now that the product is in custom, you are brought to that new product’s “store status” page. This page is important, it lets you assign the product to the correct store There is a list of assets near the top “product”, “logo”, supplier”, and “store status”.
- The product tab will let you control all the information about the product, including its name and what category it is in and how much it costs (as well as the picture). The Logo tab allows you to place your store's logo where you want it. The "Supplier" give you information about the product's supplier, and you already know what to do in the store status tab.
